Rarely in business, or in life, is it advisable to “bet the farm” or let things play out based on a game of chance.  And while risk is a natural part of everything you do – letting your future ride as you would a few dollars on a roll of the dice is not a great strategy. They key to success is to continually increase your odds of winning by gaining more and more control over the odds.  How do you increase your odds of winning and succeeding?  You master the concepts and principles of achievement.

Whenever you hear the phrase, “Oh she just got lucky,” or “He was just at the right place at the right time,” realize that it is very likely that their so called “luck” was most likely the result of the person mastering the right principles to take advantage of the opportunity which came their way.  Just being at the right place at the right time is rarely enough – you must be at the right place at the right time, be prepared with the right skills and you must take the right action.  Then, and only then, can you increase your odds of success, get lucky and win big.
